❇️ Introduction

3D Playground


3D Playground is my ongoing exploration into the world of 3D design, a hands-on portfolio documenting the ups, downs, and “aha!” moments of learning 3D from scratch. Built mostly through self-guided tutorials (and the occasional online course when time and budget allow), this space is where theory meets experimentation. Every project reflects a new skill, technique, or challenge I’ve tackled, from modeling basics and texture work to lighting and rendering.

Objective

This portfolio isn’t about perfection, it’s about progress. It captures my evolution from 3D newbie to a more confident creator, showcasing the milestones, mistakes, and mini-victories along the way. It's a living archive of growth, curiosity, and a love for turning ideas into tangible (and sometimes weird) digital objects.

🗃️ Model #09 Mombi — Aug 2024

MOMBI Games challenged me to bring their 2D brand assets to life for the launch of their new online gaming platform.

Brief

The creative brief included:

  • Translating 2D illustrations, icons, and logo into playful 3D objects

  • Applying brand colors and designing a vibrant, energetic composition

  • Creating a still render to be featured on their upcoming website

Moodboard

I modeled all assets in Cinema 4D using basic generators (extrude, sweep, lathe), applied clean textures and lighting with Redshift, and played with object rotation and depth to give the scene a fun, dynamic vibe.

This was one of my first client-style 3D projects — tight deadline, zero budget (paid in emojis 😅), and full creative freedom. A true test of turning sketches into pixels with personality.

This festive season, I explored the whimsical side of 3D modeling with a gingerbread man scene, crafted to bring holiday cheer. Each component—from the animated gingerbread man to the intricately modeled kitchen accessories—was a lesson in patience and precision. This project highlights my evolving skill set and commitment to engaging, thematic 3D art. Wishing everyone a creative and joyful holiday season!

My fourth project delves into the textural and aesthetic nuances of a beloved dish—a ramen bowl, complete with accessories, animated in a dynamic scene. This piece was influenced by Nicky Blender's tutorials, and it reflects my growing expertise and my journey into the cultural facets of my new home in London. This model celebrates the blend of culinary art and digital design, showcasing my versatility and attention to detail.

Capitalizing on the momentum from my recent projects, I am delighted to present my latest creation—a delightful 3D animated piggy bank, modeled in Cinema 4D. This project drew inspiration from Brené Brown's discussions on embracing new challenges, embodying the growth and resilience required in mastering 3D modeling. Each step was an opportunity to refine my skills and push the boundaries of digital creativity.

Following a unique request from a former mentor, I embraced the challenge to construct a 3D HUD-style model of the Coliseum using Blender. This venture involved leveraging advanced node-based effects to encapsulate the iconic structure's grandeur, marking a significant evolution from my earlier works. The project not only enhanced my technical skills but also solidified my passion for 3D artistry. Feedback and insights are always appreciated as I continue to advance in this dynamic field.

Hello everyone! I'm thrilled to share my debut in 3D modeling—a meticulously crafted pigeon created using Cinema 4D. This project marks my foray into the realm of digital sculpting, inspired and guided by the amazing artist, EJ Hassenfratz. Although initially daunted by the complexity of the task, my recent return to the field has seen significant improvements in technique and creativity.
