FinLearn

about.

FinLearn* was an educational motion series created for Fintopio to demystify blockchain and decentralized finance for social media audiences. The challenge was ambitious: explain genuinely complex Web3 concepts in under 60 seconds, published weekly across TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube, without sacrificing accuracy or visual appeal.

The real constraint wasn't just time or complexity. It was maintaining creative quality and visual consistency across 22 episodes over six months while working solo in a startup environment. Each episode needed to feel fresh yet familiar, educational yet entertaining, informative yet platform-native.

To solve this, I developed a hybrid production workflow combining AI-assisted exploration with handcrafted motion design. This approach allowed the series to scale efficiently while preserving the creative control needed for brand consistency and audience trust. The result was an evergreen content library that balanced education with engagement, building authority in the Web3 space through accessible storytelling.

Motion Designer | Creative Direction

Scriptwriting & Narrative Strategy: Translated technical blockchain concepts into concise, audience-focused scripts that balanced clarity with accuracy for non-crypto audiences.

AI Tool Integration & Testing: Researched and implemented AI tools (Runway ML, Midjourney) for early-stage concepting and visual exploration, establishing which stages benefited from AI assistance versus manual craft.

Visual Development & Animation: Designed modular style frames, graphic systems, and 2D motion language optimized for fast-scroll social feeds while maintaining brand sophistication.

Production Strategy: Built a repeatable hybrid workflow that enabled weekly publishing without creative compromise, defining when to use AI exploration versus handcrafted animation.

Creative Direction: Maintained visual consistency, tonal balance, and narrative pacing across 22 episodes, ensuring each video felt educational without being didactic.

Brand Integration: Integrated Fintopio's identity organically into educational content, keeping the focus on value rather than promotion.

challenge.

Stage 1: Understanding the Constraint The core challenge wasn't just explaining crypto in 60 seconds. It was building a sustainable creative system that could deliver 22 episodes over six months without burning out or diluting quality. Early episodes needed to establish visual language, test workflows, and prove the concept could scale. The pressure was finding the balance between speed and craft.

Stage 2: Strategic Decisions Rather than committing to one approach, I treated the first three episodes as active experiments. I tested AI-generated visuals (Runway ML, Midjourney) against traditional motion design to see where each tool added value. This revealed that AI excelled at rapid concepting and visual exploration, while After Effects remained essential for precision, brand consistency, and the polished motion that builds trust in educational content.

Stage 3: Creative Execution I developed a modular visual system with reusable graphic elements, transitions, and compositional templates that could adapt to different topics without feeling repetitive. Each episode maintained a clean, dynamic 2D motion language while allowing room for creative variation. The key was designing a framework flexible enough to handle diverse concepts (from "What is a blockchain?" to "How do smart contracts work?") while keeping visual coherence.

Stage 4: Final Breakthrough The breakthrough came in establishing a hybrid workflow where AI handled early exploration and I retained full creative control over final animation and composition. This wasn't about replacing craft with automation. It was about using AI strategically to accelerate ideation while protecting the quality and consistency that makes educational content trustworthy. The result was a sustainable pipeline that delivered weekly without compromise.
